Multi-Purpose Clerk - Grocery (Night Crew)

Pay Range: $16.75 – $26.00 (hourly)

The Multi-Purpose Clerk - Night Crew is responsible for stocking grocery store shelves, pricing new items, offloading shipments, unwrapping, rotating and packing boxes during overnight shifts. Duties include order writing, ensuring freshness/quality code compliance, tag accuracy, reporting safety risks, maintaining proper temperatures in cases/coolers, inventory accuracy, and operating the check stand. The role emphasizes a clean, safe working environment.

• Receive, stock, display, price, and face products.
• Break down loads including unwrapping, rotating and packing boxes.
• Write orders and ensure item‑to‑tag integrity.
• Report all risks or safety issues to management.
• Ensure proper temperature in cases and coolers.
• Maintain inventory accuracy.
• Perform minimal checking on the cash register.
• Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas.
• Know the location of the MSDS binder and information about materials used during work.
• Operate forklift or commercial baler if authorized and certified.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to work with urgency, self‑motivation, and a proactive, enthusiastic attitude.
• Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English.
• Strong team player willing to learn, work hard, and have fun.

Minimum of three months or equivalent experience.

High School diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience/training.

• Availability for varied retail hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Availability for overnight shift.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance, up to 85 lbs on occasion.
• Ability to carry up to 80 lbs on occasion.
• Ability to push up to 85 lbs and pull up to 92 lbs on occasion.
• Regular standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing and pulling.
• Ability to work in changing temperature conditions, including cold rooms and freezers.
• Ability to operate tools such as step stools, carts, registers, safety cutters, rolling ladders, food preparation equipment, ovens, warmers, mixers, meat cutting instruments, pallet jacks, packaging components, and cleaning supplies.

Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs or ladders, and moving machinery. Occasional lifting, carrying, and operating motor or power vehicle. Use of protective equipment occasionally. Fine finger manipulation and gross manipulation frequently. Repetitive hand/arm use frequently.
