Summary of Position

The Volunteer – Skilled Nursing Facility role provides support services for skilled nursing facility patients at Barton.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school graduate or GED required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Strong social skills
• Dependable

Physical Demands

• Requires walking, standing, sitting, talking or hearing frequently.
• Occasional use of hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus.
• Occasional lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions

• Normal office environment with quiet to moderate noise levels.
• Occasional travel to various health system locations.

Essential Functions

• Provide consistently exceptional care at all times.
• Assist with resident activities under direct supervision.
• Provide companionship by visiting with residents, reading to them and playing board games.
• Respond to the needs of the department by performing other duties as necessary.
