Summary of PositionThis position requires radiology technologists (R) skills, performing all screening and diagnostic mammography studies (2D and 3D), including needle localization biopsies and needle aspirations, utilizing established policies, procedures, and standards (ARRT, CRT, FDA-MQSA) to ensure optimal diagnostic quality. Responsibilities include data collection, input into mammography information systems, documentation for Federal and State agencies, and data archiving into PACS. Services are provided to patients from adult to geriatric age groups.
The role involves maintaining equipment and supplies, effectively utilizing equipment, and meeting individual patient needs. Assisting physicians during procedures and ensuring safety are also key duties. The technologist reports daily to the lead Technologist and the Director of Medical Imaging.
- New Salary Range as of 7/1/25: $50.70 - 78.50 per hour
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience- Minimum of one year experience as a Mammography Technologist preferred.
- 3D tomography experience preferred.
- Stereotactic biopsy experience preferred.
- Computer literacy, experience with information systems, and knowledge of word processing;
Epic experience preferred. - Effective communication in English required; bilingual abilities preferred.
- ARRT registry in radiology (R) required.
- ARRT mammography (M) registry required or eligible within 3 months of hire.
- California Radiologic Technologist license or ability to obtain before start date.
- California Mammography license or ability to obtain before start date.
- CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association or ability to obtain before start date.
- California fluoroscopy licenses and venipuncture certification are preferred.
Frequent walking, standing, sitting, talking, and hearing; occasional use of hands, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, color, and focus adjustment.
Working ConditionsHospital and administrative environments with exposure to blood borne pathogens, infections, hazardous agents, and emergency situations. May involve travel between locations.

- Assist physicians during procedures, maintaining sterile techniques.
- Utilize electronic medical imaging programs effectively.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Provide patient education and support.
- Operate equipment safely and perform preventive maintenance.
- Train and orient new staff.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and pursue continuing education.
