Responsibilities- Drive community occupancy to meet and exceed goals.
- Manage the sales/admission process; assist prospective residents, families, referral sources, and/or advisors by understanding their needs and educating them about Brookdale’s skilled services.
- Respond promptly to all phone, electronic, and walk‑in inquiries.
- Conduct patient and family visits, utilizing Brookdale’s selling techniques and tools.
- Track all inquiries and referrals via approved systems; update information for conversion ratios, non‑admittance reasons, and acceptance criteria.
- Keep the Interdisciplinary Care Team and key associates informed of admission status.
- Monitor conversion ratios by payer, analyze data, and prepare weekly/monthly reports; provide performance information to management.
- Maintain knowledge of payer sources and use them to maximize revenue and expedite admissions.
- Complete business‑development sales calls as assigned.
- Develop and maintain relationships with residents, family, and professional referral sources; conduct visits to highlight skilled services, programs, outcomes, and market advantages.
- Effectively manage skilled bed availability and seek revenue‑increasing opportunities.
- Create a positive customer‑service experience from initial contact through admission and transition to care.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree in a related field preferred. 2–5 years of experience in a senior‑care health‑care environment (preferably skilled nursing) required.
- Certifications, Licenses, and Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license with frequent car travel; computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office, required.
- Management/Decision Making: Apply existing guidelines to make departmental decisions; use sound judgment and solve moderately complex problems; communicate effectively across departments.
- Knowledge and
Skills:
Basic analytical ability; understanding of marketing strategy, sales techniques, and sales control systems; knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and payer contracts; ability to manage time, tasks, and projects in a dynamic environment; interpersonal skills for diverse personalities; strong written and verbal communication.
- Standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands and fingers (up to 25 lbs lift).
- Interaction with co‑workers, residents, or vendors.
- Occasional weekend, evening, or night work; on‑call as needed.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, latex, blood‑borne pathogens, chemicals, and various biosurveillance hazards.
- Frequent travel required.
