Position: Independent Sales Representative – Industrial Automation (1099 | Commission Only | Utah Market)

Wasatch Automation is an industrial automation control systems integration company focused on PLC programming, troubleshooting, and turnkey automation projects primarily in food & beverage manufacturing.

I’m looking for an entrepreneurial sales professional who can develop business
within Utah’s manufacturing market
.

This is a
1099 independent contractor opportunity
— not a W-2 role. I’m looking for 1–2 entrepreneurial sales professionals who can develop business
within Utah’s manufacturing market

There are:
  • No required hours
  • No exclusivity requirements

You operate on your own time and on your own terms.

What you would do:
  • Identify automation and controls opportunities within manufacturing facilities or OEMs
  • Build relationships with plant managers, maintenance managers, engineers, or leadership teams
  • Make introductions and open doors
You do NOT need to:
  • Design control systems
  • Scope projects

Wasatch Automation handles all technical meetings, project scoping, proposals, and closing.

Compensation Structure:
  • +2% Active Sales Participation Bonus when you materially participate in the closing process

Commission is:

  • Earned when the client contract is signed
  • Paid only when Wasatch Automation receives payment from the client
  • 50% paid at initial client payment
  • 50% paid at final project payment

Commissions are paid only while the independent contractor agreement is active (no lifetime residuals).

No cap on earnings. Commission scales directly with revenue generated.

  • This is a commission-only 1099 role
  • Contractors are responsible for their own taxes
  • Contractors are responsible for their own business expenses (travel, mileage, marketing, etc.)
  • No salary, benefits, or expense reimbursement
Ideal Background:
  • Industrial or manufacturing sales
  • Former plant manager, maintenance manager, or reliability leader
  • Strong relationships inside manufacturing environments

You don’t need deep PLC knowledge — you need access and credibility.
