Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Compensation: $25–$30 per hour (DOE – dependent on experience)
We are a growing architectural millwork company specializing in the design, fabrication, and installation of high-quality custom millwork for residential, hotels, restaurants, retail storefronts, tenant improvements, and other commercial projects. We are seeking a detail-oriented Cabinet & Millwork Designer/Drafter to join our team and help transform client concepts into precise, buildable realities.
Position OverviewIn this role, you will create accurate technical drawings and submittals that meet architectural specifications, AWI standards, and project requirements. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and shop personnel while utilizing industry-leading software to produce high-quality millwork designs.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret architectural blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings to identify all millwork-related scope (cabinets, casework, desks, paneling, and other custom elements)
- Produce detailed shop drawings, submittals, and technical documentation that clearly communicate design intent and comply with AWI standards and project specifications
- Utilize design and drafting software including Cabinet Vision
, Aspire
, Plan Swift
, and Sketch Up to create precise 2D/3D models and drawings - Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to resolve design questions and ensure alignment with project goals
- Revise drawings efficiently based on feedback from internal teams, clients, or consultants while maintaining version control and accuracy
- Optimize material layouts and part lists to support efficient shop production
- Coordinate material samples and mock-ups as required
- Prepare presentation materials and participate in client meetings to review plans when needed
- Maintain organized digital file records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation
- Communicate effectively across departments to support project coordination and timelines
- Uphold company core values of excellence, reliability, and attention to detail in all work
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience using Cabinet Vision (or comparable cabinet/millwork design software)
- Proficiency in Cabinet Vision
, Aspire
, Plan Swift
, and Sketch Up preferred - Strong ability to read and interpret complex architectural plans, elevations, sections, and specifications
- Working knowledge of millwork construction methods, materials, and industry standards (AWI preferred)
- Familiarity with relevant building codes and commercial construction practices
- High School Diploma required;
Associate degree or certification in drafting, CAD, engineering technology, woodworking technology, or a related field preferred - Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work under deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Dependable, reliable, and professional demeanor
- Must pass background check and participate in random drug screening
