At Nexsentio, our Associate, HR Business Partner will be a key member of our HR team supporting Southern California, helping us drive HR initiatives that align with the company’s goals and support our amazing employees. You’ll work closely with leadership and employees across all levels to ensure smooth HR operations and foster an environment where people feel valued and supported. Whether you're assisting with recruitment, managing workers compensation or leave of absence, handling employee relations issues, or supporting performance management — you’ll help shape our company culture and create a great employee experience.

  • Serve as the primary HR Business Partner for the Southern California region, supporting leaders and employees across all levels.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation administration, Leaves of Absence and ADA accommodations ensuring timely, compliant communication and documentation.
  • Oversee Benefits administration, including enrollments, audits, broker partnership, and employee education.
  • Partner with hiring managers to manage recruitment, support onboarding, and contribute to coaching and employee development programs.
  • Contribute to HR programs to improve employee engagement, track employee data, and support training initiatives aligned with company goals.
  • Maintain employee records, assist with life cycle events like promotions and separations, and contribute to improving HR processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex HR issues and provide guidance aligned with company policies and employment law.
  • Partner with leadership to reduce risk, improve compliance, and support a positive employee experience.

Day-to-Day:

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for Southern California.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Supervisors and coach them on best practices regarding employee related situations.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation cases after investigations are completed, including claim submission, carrier communication, and follow-up.
  • Coordinate return-to-work, light duty, and transitional work plans with Operations and Safety.
  • Maintain OSHA 300/300A logs and ensure required reporting accuracy.
  • Administer CFRA, FMLA, PDL, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation-related leaves.
  • Issue required leave notices and determinations within legally required timelines.
  • Track leave status, extensions, and return-to-work dates.
  • Oversee benefits enrollments, terminations, and qualifying life events.
  • Conduct regular benefits audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct regular site visits to support leaders and employees in the field.
  • Participate in regional meetings to ensure alignment on HR priorities and operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Stay current on California employment laws and ensure consistent application across the region.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources or relevant work experience with education or certifications.
  • Solid understanding of HR practices, including workers compensation administration, leave of absence and accommodation administration, recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Ability to speak Spanish and English preferred for this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Able to collaborate in person at our Ontario Office, 5 days a week

Preferred Education, Certifications, or Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field a plus.
  • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR is a plus.
  • Experience in facilities services, janitorial, construction, or blue-collar industries preferred.
  • Experience using HRIS systems, and the ability to adapt to changing technologies.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional travel by car or plane for business needs.
  • Extended periods of technology use (computer, phone, etc.)
  • Ability to walk around operational facilities and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods as part of daily tasks.
  • Ability to travel to remote office locations as needed, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

The annual base salary for an at-will 40 hour, exempt Associate, Human Resources Business Partner in the facilities services industry typically ranges from $64,302 and $81,927, depending on experience and qualifications.
