General PurposeThe Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the Store and for general operations and supervision when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening/closing the Store, supervising Associates, ensuring a friendly, easy-to-shop environment, maintaining merchandise presentation, and keeping a clean work area. They also execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
EssentialFunctions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
- Safety is the priority; practice safe behaviors at all times.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; correct or report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Oversee building security, EAS devices, Cash Office security, armored carrier pick-ups, and register area.
- Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
- Responsible for customer safety including accident prevention and emergency procedures; test fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after-hours alarms when requested.
- Treat all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect; demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Represent and support the Company brand; maintain a professional appearance and ensure adherence to the Dress Code.
- Keep all areas clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard; manage daily trash removal.
- Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet Company standards; assist with merchandise receipt when needed; process merchandise with urgency.
- Oversee inventory and back-stock, stockroom cleanliness, and floor replenishment; ensure back-stock is secured per policy.
- Support monthly presentation guidelines and manage floor moves and promotional signing.
- Follow Loss Prevention programs and maintain a strong customer service presence on the sales floor.
- Safeguard confidential information and ensure proper handling of cash and merchandise; maintain PVM system.
- Conduct code inspections as required and maximize productivity by minimizing unnecessary steps.
- Enforce Company Best Practices and ensure Front End standards are met; manage line pace to reduce customer wait times.
- Train and coach Associates on cash register procedures, shortage controls, and Front End operations.
- Manage break schedules, equipment functionality, and Front End recovery; ensure proper go-back handling and scanning.
- Maintain cleanliness and audit garment tags; ensure go-back compliance and proper ticketing and security tagging as needed.
- Ensure cash pulls and bank deposits follow policy; manage Front End control, refunds, approvals, and cash handling per procedures.
- Assist with payroll administration and scheduling as needed; perform other duties as assigned by Store Manager.
