Service Technician 2 – S. Elgin, IL

Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.

This is an immediate direct‑hire opportunity open for a Service Technician 2 at our service center in S. Elgin, IL. The work schedule is Monday‑Friday, 0630‑1500.

Job Responsibilities

• Remove pumps from the frame and disassemble pump components, minimizing damage and meeting prescribed time frames.
• Clean industrial pumps using cold dip parts, cleaner, hot dip parts cleaner, high‑pressure parts washer, bead blaster, and sandblaster.
• Perform preventive maintenance on shop equipment as part of the Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) program.
• Safely and productively operate material handling equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
• Work independently or as part of a team to fulfill department and company goals.
• Cross‑train to support other functions in the service center as needed.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining 5S and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste, as directed by management.
• Maintain measurable and productive output as defined by production goals.
• Follow training and procedures outlined in written operating procedures of our internal proprietary system.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report unsafe activities to the supervisor, safety officer, or human resources.

Required Experience

• 1+ year of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• High school graduate or GED.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 9panel drug screen and a 7‑year criminal history check (most felonies are a disqualifier).
• Must pass respirator fit test (annual retesting required) and be willing to maintain facial hair to a minimum for respirator fitment.
• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE.
• Eligible to work in the US without company sponsorship, as Busch does not sponsor visas.

Physical Requirements

• Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
• All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and wear required PPE such as safety shoes, electrical hazard protection, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
