Radiologic Technologist / CT Tech
Overview
Under the direction of the department manager or designee, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to ensure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients.
Participates in technical duties directly involved with the CT scanner including developing, initiating, training and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of this unit as well as other portable and stationary X-ray units within the department.
This individual will perform in the capacity of CT / Radiology Technologist. To perform all required special procedures in the radiology department, operating specialized equipment; as well as routine diagnostic procedures providing quality radiographic images.
Responsibilities- Carry out interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to support accurate radiologic diagnosis.
- Engage in technical duties related to CT scanning; develop, initiate, train, and monitor procedures to optimize unit utilization, including portable and stationary X-ray units within the department.
- Perform CT/Radiology technologist duties and all required special procedures in the radiology department; operate specialized equipment and conduct routine diagnostic procedures to yield quality radiographic images.
- Minimum education:
A.A. degree in Radiology Technology or equivalent approved AMA program. - One to three years of radiologic experience and special procedures experience preferred.
- One year minimum experience in performing CT or previous acute hospital experience preferred.
- Experience caring for all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric.
- Licenses/Certifications:
CRT License and Fluoroscopy Permit;
Valid California state certification license in unlimited diagnostic radiology services; ARRT License required;
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate; CT Certification preferred.
