Under the direction of the CNO, the house supervisor has 24‑hour responsibility for effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and nursing department, and their effect on patient care in a designated unit. The nurse manager has authority to make decisions on that unit in the areas of patient care, human resource, and financial management.

• Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant nursing practice.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and managerial competency.
• Effective communication, problem‑solving, issue resolution, motivating others, planning, organizing, and directing the activities of others.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Five years acute clinical experience preferred.
• B.S. with concentration in nursing preferred.
• At least one year administrative house supervisor experience or equivalent.
• Current California RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
