As a Welder I at Vermeer, you’ll play a vital role in producing high-quality equipment that makes a difference worldwide. You’ll develop foundational welding expertise while contributing to our culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do- Entry-level welding experience or formal training (technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent) preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete Vermeer’s Weld Training Program, including American Welding Society (AWS) Gas Metal Arc Welding – Pulsed (GMAW-P) certification to the D14.0 standard with qualification in the flat (1G-UL) position, and willingness to learn and qualify in Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) for vertical fillet (3F) and overhead fillet (4F) positions.
- Ability to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and apply decimal-based measurements for precision and quality.
- Ability to access and interpret digital work instructions and drawings using computer systems.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify welding defects, participating in root cause analysis, and recommending corrective actions.
- Ability to adapt, assess situations quickly, and carry out appropriate actions to maintain safety, quality, and productivity.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
