Plumbing Journeyman

The Plumbing Journeyman will utilize extensive knowledge and experience in the plumbing trade to independently install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems. The Plumbing Journeyman will need to interpret blueprints and specifications to complete projects efficiently while ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, valves, fittings, and appliances.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, such as leaks, clogs, and malfunctions, using appropriate tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Perform advanced pipe fitting and welding tasks, including cutting, threading, bending, soldering, brazing, and welding pipes and fitting.
• Install, test, and maintain backflow prevention devices to protect potable water supplies from contamination.
• Install, repair, and maintain gas piping systems for heating, cooking, and other applications.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute plumbing installations and modifications accurately, coordinating with other trades as necessary.
• Ensure all plumbing work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and permit requirements, obtaining necessary permits and inspections as needed.
• Conduct quality inspections of completed work to verify compliance with standards and specifications, adjusting or repairs as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
• Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety on job sites, adhering to safety protocols, and encouraging fellow workers to follow best practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to travel to job sites and locations as needed in multiple states.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Journeyman plumber license or equivalent certification required.
• Hands‑on experience in the plumbing trade, demonstrating proficiency.
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards.
