Salary Range: $15.00 - $22.50 per hour
The Food Service Assistant is responsible for monitoring and recording proper food temperature, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, receiving payment using a computerized register, and other related responsibilities. The role complies with HACCP guidelines, provides outstanding customer service, communicates effectively with patrons and co‑workers, and establishes effective working relationships.
Responsibilities- Monitors and records proper temperature of food.
- Sets up and maintains a clean and sanitized serving area.
- Prepares and serves food items.
- Restocks food areas.
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment.
- Receives payment for food and beverages using a computerized register.
- Operates equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice‑cream dispensers, cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Minimum age 16 years.
- Previous customer service experience or retail counting and reconciliation of money preferred.
- Knowledge of food service preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to work independently when necessary.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
- Ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances.
- On‑the‑job training will be provided;
Serv Safe certification may be required depending on location;
Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.
