Food Service Assistant - PT Varied Shifts (LTC)

Good Samaritan is looking for a Food Service Assistant to provide outstanding customer service and manage food preparation and safety at the GSS SD Tyndall Ctr. The position is part-time with 16 weekly hours, varied shifts, salary $15.00/hr, and a $2,500 sign‑on bonus.

The Food Service Assistant is responsible for monitoring and recording proper temperature of food, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and receiving payment using a computerized register. The role complies with HACCP guidelines, provides outstanding customer service, effectively communicates with patrons and co‑workers, and maintains quality control standards.

The assistant may operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice‑cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers.

• Monitor and record proper temperature of food.
• Set up and maintain a clean, sanitized serving area.
• Prepare and serve food items.
• Restock food areas.
• Clean and sanitize equipment.
• Receive payment using a computerized register.
• Operate food service equipment such as grills, beverage machines, etc.
• Adhere to HACCP guidelines.
• Provide outstanding customer service and effective communication.
• Stand on feet and walk long distances for the majority of the day.

• Minimum 16 years of age.
• Previous customer service experience, retail counting and reconciliation of money preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Basic math skills.
• On‑the‑job training will be provided.
• Depending on location, Serv Safe certification may be required within a designated timeframe.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.
