Location: Canton, SD

Minimum Salary: $14.38 Hourly

• Alternate between Front Desk Attendant and Campground Attendant positions.
• As Front Desk Attendant, serve as the initial contact for park visitors, providing a positive image of the park and the State Park System through actions and appearance.
• As Campground Attendant, assist in the overall operation and maintenance of the campgrounds.
• Collect entrance license revenue and camping permit fees.
• Register campers and answer visitor questions.
• Sell firewood and maintain accurate records of park attendance.
• Perform custodial and maintenance duties for park grounds, buildings, and facilities.
• Handle office duties such as answering the phone and assisting the secretary as assigned.

• Experience or knowledge in money handling and customer service.
• Ability to work independently, manage time well, and perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Skills in carpentry, plumbing, and vehicle/equipment maintenance are helpful.

Hours: 32-40 hours a week, varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work schedule:

May through Labor Day, weekends until October 30.
