We are seeking a Nursing Assistant, Certified, Long Term Care (LTC) to join our team at Good Samaritan in Canton, SD
.

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities
• Assisting the resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
• Providing range of motion and passive exercises
• Completing tasks related to food preparation and dining
• Aiding providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed
• Documenting resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
• Minimum age of 16
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
• Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position
