Job Summary
As a Standard Chartered Team Lead, Product Sales Specialist, you’ll be responsible for leading Life Insurance within the Direct Closure & referral space by building a sustainable business model across ARM segments.

Our client continuum spans from Mass Retail to Affluent, including high-net worth clients served by our Private Bank. We leverage digital banking channels with a human touch to provide clients with differentiated products and services such as deposits, payments, financing, wealth management and personalised advice.
We also support small business clients with their business banking needs.
Strategy: Contribute to and support the Bank’s and Department’s vision, business model, strategies, and growth plans.
Business:
- Lead the IS team in daily sales activities, ensuring sales targets are met while safeguarding client’s interests and ensuring positive client experience.
- Supervise IS team members to ensure ethical and professional sales behaviours and practices, as well as complete and compliant transaction documentation.
- Support Affluent Distribution, Business Banking, and Personal Banking in sales activity planning and execution, issue resolution, and insurance sales growth.
- Work closely with stakeholders and Insurance Service Providers (ISP) to ensure sales and service quality align with the Bank’s standards.
- Assist in client inquiries, complaint handling, and problem resolution.
Processes:
- Oversee and guide the IS team in sales closures, proper documentation, exceptional approvals, and post-trade callbacks to protect both the customer’s and the Bank’s interests.
- Ensure the team fully understands and adheres to the latest sales process guidelines.
People & Talent:
- Lead by example, fostering an ethical sales culture and strong valued behaviours.
- Hire, mentor, coach, and train IS team members for personal development and skills enhancement.
- Retain valuable talent and establish succession plans.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of insurance products and sales processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and drive team performance.
- Commitment to ethical sales practices and customer service excellence.
