This person shall be responsible for providing a superior service experience to all guests of FBT. They will meet and resolve transactional needs in a timely and efficient manner, develop and maintain client relationships, and proactively recognize opportunities to offer solutions, all while putting people first.
Principal Responsibilities- Provide a superior service experience that meets the wants and needs of the bank’s guests and reflects First Bank & Trust’s culture and commitment to the communities we serve.
- Enthusiastically develop, maintain, and grow new and existing relationships that are profitable to the bank while minimizing risk – a general understanding of sales is helpful.
- Perform general teller functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, and negotiable items; maintain a balanced cash drawer; remain risk‑aware and report suspicious transactions; assist with daily servicing of branch hardware (ATM and/or TCR).
- Anticipate needs and advise clients on solutions that personally benefit them.
- Assist in opening new accounts and establishing new relationships.
- Be an expert and educate clients in the bank’s suite of products, services and processes that meet client and community needs.
- Seek direction from the Retail Banking Supervisor or Retail Branch Manager to ensure daily work aligns with organizational goals and collaborate with colleagues inside and outside the Retail line.
- Monitor and maintain deposit and credit portfolios for quality and potential risk; follow through on collection efforts using legal means as required by Loan Policy and Guidelines.
- Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.
- Adhere to compliance procedures, complete required compliance training, and attend meetings as directed by supervisor.
This person should have a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, or the equivalent. They should demonstrate strong communication skills through excellent verbal and written correspondence, effective listening, and responsiveness. The ideal candidate is genuinely personable, empathetic to others, collaborative, and a solution‑driven problem solver.
