Position Title: Intern - Transportation Engineering (Three positions)

Location: Yankton Area (Primary), Beresford/Vermillion/Tyndall

Minimum Salary: $22.19 (Non-Engineering Students) and $24.73 (Engineering Students)

Interns will be assigned to a variety of projects ranging from grading, concrete paving, asphalt surfacing and bridge construction. Their duties will consist of assisting the project technician and engineering staff with sampling and testing of the materials incorporated into the project along with inspection of the processes conducted for construction of the project. Their duties may also include assisting the survey crew.

The interns will learn the processes required for conducting source documentation for payment of the quantities of material incorporated into the project and work conducted for construction of the project. Duties are primarily performed outdoors and may be physical in nature.

Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
