New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking an Energy Efficiency Field Auditor to conduct in-home energy assessments for residential customers to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements. Perform technical diagnostic tests and complete detailed audits to evaluate building performance. Prepare comprehensive reports to support findings and recommendations. Collaborate with various energy efficiency programs and present tailored proposals to prospective customers during site visits.
Responsibilities- Conduct and document residential energy audits, including site assessments and data collection (e.g., utility usage, equipment specs, building characteristics).
- Identify and evaluate energy efficiency opportunities; calculate potential savings and prepare detailed audit reports.
- Perform in-home assessments of insulation, HVAC systems, ductwork, windows, weather-stripping, and lighting.
- Educate customers on recommended energy-saving measures and available incentives, loans, and tax credits.
- Promote participation in energy efficiency programs and guide homeowners through next steps.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- 2–5 years of experience in residential construction or a related discipline
- BPI (Building Performance Institute) Professional Certification required
- Strong technical knowledge of residential construction, HVAC systems, and energy efficiency
- Proven ability to sell and close in-home consultations
- Excellent communication, customer service, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to learn and perform a variety of technical diagnostic tests including setting up a 30 lb. blower door
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with energy use analysis software preferred
- Willingness to work evenings and Saturdays as needed
- Ability to install Wi-Fi thermostats and other energy-saving devices such as low flow faucet aerators and shower heads
- Familiarity with energy efficiency and conservation operations
- Must be able to travel within the service territory, possessing a valid driver license and demonstrated safe driving

Other DetailsCompensation:
Expected base pay range for this role will be $59,000- $75,200.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
