The Custer YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our team and support our preschool, infant/toddler classrooms, and Kidstop after school program. The YMCA is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Our preschool classrooms provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children to thrive. As a Substitute Teacher at the YMCA, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continued care and education of children in the absence of regular classroom teachers.

You will implement lesson plans, engage with children in educational and recreational activities, and create a positive, inclusive environment that promotes learning and development.

• Follow lesson plans and daily schedules provided by the regular classroom teacher.
• Engage children in age‑appropriate educational activities, play, and creative projects, while ensuring their safety and well‑being.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional growth of each child.
• Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
