Sanford Clinic Clear Lake is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine Physician to join our dynamic group!

  • Group consists of 3 APPs
  • No Obstetrics Required
  • ED Call is 1:6 (Avg 300-400 Encounters/Yr)
  • Average 2-4 inpatients/day
  • Traditional Outpatient Clinic with Inpatient Rounding Duties
  • Ancillary Services include laboratory, radiology, and ultrasound. All include therapy modalities.
Community Description

Clear Lake is a rural South Dakota community with strong traditional values -- located in the heart of Deuel County. Population of 1,273;
Deuel County population 4,364. Clear Lake is host to one of the largest rodeos in the area. The Crystal Springs Ranch Rodeo is held the end of June each year drawing thousands of people to the town.

Job Description

Family Medicine Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illness, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions and functional disorders of circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, integumentary, nervous, female reproductive, and genitourinary systems. This includes the pre-operative care of surgical patients and post-operative medical care of surgical patients and return to work issues.

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree.

  • Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested:
    • An applicant who has just completed residency shall provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable.
    • An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
    • Applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing a case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under the age of 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months.
  • Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the ABMS, AOA, as applicable. Those not board certified at the time of application but who have completed residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, but must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.

Compensation

Sanford Health offers a nationally competitive hourly salary with a night differential, with an additional physician benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, CME allowance, allowed time away, malpractice insurance and tail coverage, and a relocation allowance.
