We are seeking a Construction Material Technician to join our team and support a project located in Lead, South Dakota.

• Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Supervisory Staff.
• Work schedule typically 8 to 10 hours per day, with the ability to work nights and weekends when required.
• Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.
• Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.
• Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
• Performs field quality control tests of concrete and masonry construction.
• Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
• Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and supports other departments as necessary.
• Follows Atlas’ safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs; ability to follow Atlas QC plan and SOPs.

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1 REQUIRED
• 2 years of experience in construction material testing REQUIRED
• Valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Physical strength, stamina and dexterity to lift and move 50 lbs., stoop, bend, and stand for the duration of a workday in varying weather conditions and terrain
• Motivated, career-oriented individual with a willingness to learn within the construction industry
• Willingness to travel near the reporting office and surrounding areas as required by assignments
• Works well independently
• Experience in a construction-related field is a plus
• Safety conscious, a team player, energetic, self-motivated, with good written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work toward and achieve industry-required certifications (e.g., ACI, OSHA 10) and related credentials

• Materials laboratory, geotechnical drilling, or soils-related experience would be a plus
• Preference for certifications such as ACI Masonry or ACI strength
