To apply to this position and be considered, click the Apply button above and complete the application in full. This position provides professional nursing care for patients in an inpatient hospital setting and includes shift accountability for delivery of nursing care through the nursing process.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care within a designated shift based on the nursing process and within scope of practice.
- Apply independent nursing judgment and clinical knowledge to ensure quality patient care outcomes.
- Assess and interpret patient data to identify age-specific needs and requirements across the life span.
- Use standard of care and professional standards to guide care delivery; document clearly and coordinate with interdisciplinary team.
- Initiate actions to correct, reduce, or prevent patient health risks based on data and risk indicators.
- Delegate tasks to assigned personnel, follow up for completion and patient response, and maintain accountability for care delegated to others.
- Engage in mentoring and professional development; foster teamwork and open communication within the unit and with patients and families.
- Participate in performance improvement activities as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- The Graduate nurse must obtain licensure within 60 days of hire. Licenses must be obtained before expiration date of any temporary permit if issued by licensing state unless deemed not possible due to extraordinary circumstances.
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Diploma; currently enrolled in a BSN program and BSN completed within 5 years of hire

The role requires raising, lifting, transferring and mobility assistance as described by standard patient handling guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable performance of essential functions.
- Minimum exertion: lifting/moving up to and beyond 40 lbs; use of lift equipment and patient handling aids as indicated by patient profile.
- Collaborative work with others; possible protracted or irregular hours
- Exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases; proximity to patients and equipment
- Electrical hazards associated with patient care equipment
