Minimum Qualifications- Certification in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Certification in Mammography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Must possess current licensure as required by the state board where services will be provided:
- Maryland – Radiographer license through the Maryland Board of Physicians.
- Ohio – Radiographer license through the Ohio Board of Radiology.
- Pennsylvania – no state license is required.
- West Virginia – Radiography license through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board.
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Three (3) years of experience in mammographic imaging.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads mammography staff to ensure optimal imaging procedures as indicated by image quality, repeat analysis, audits, and patient follow‑up.
- Coordinates and schedules staff to facilitate daily operations.
- Identifies peak flow times and supports technologists to minimize patient wait times.
- Promotes cooperative problem solving and team building among staff.
- Plans imaging procedures based on patient needs.
- Minimizes radiation exposure by shielding and correctly selecting exposure factors.
- Evaluates images for protocol compliance, density, contrast, detail, positioning, compression, and artifact, ensuring correct patient identification on every image.
- Educates patients about mammographic procedures.
- Documents imaging activities accurately and consistently per ACR and federal mandates.
- Engages in problem solving, crisis management, and systems implementation with physicians, nursing, tech, and support personnel.
- Performs mammographic processing and quality control tests per ACR technologist manual guidelines and documents them in the quality control binder.
- Displays imaging techniques, patient care, and guest relation behaviors per standard policies.
- Reports equipment failures immediately upon identification.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and well‑stocked procedure area.
- Prepares contrast agents, pharmaceuticals, and sterile trays for invasive procedures.
- Performs all duties of a mammography technologist as needed.
- Maintains MQSA compliance.
- Differentiate various shades of gray as depicted on a black and white monitor.
- Stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 10 pounds of weight.
- Carry items up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, body fluids, toxic or caustic chemicals, and electrical shock.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple situations simultaneously.
- Ability to interact positively with patients, families, and the health care team.

40 hours per week.
