Forklift Warehouse Operator

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Stand-Up Forklift Operator in Columbia, South Carolina — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about.

• Hourly Pay: $17.50 per hour
• Additional Pay: $4.00 per hour extra when working a Saturday or Sunday
• Schedule:
  
  Second Shift 6am-6pm, 2 days on, 2 days off, and 3 days on; 36 hours one week, 48 the next, continuous cycle; every other weekend a 3 day weekend off.

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Maintain accurate picking and packing, audits, tote induction, staging of products, loading and unloading of trucks.
• Handle day‑to‑day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hour of production.
• Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines and other assignments as necessary.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator’s License, certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of initiative.
• High level of accuracy, even under pressure.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule and able to work various shifts.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
• Proficient health and safety methods.
