CDL Driver

This position involves daily operation and driving of a tractor-trailer combination or a single, double, or tri-axle vehicle. The driver will be responsible for loading and unloading the truck. A commercial driver’s license is required. Under the direction of the Driver Manager, duties include:

• Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies
• Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, follow signals from loading crew, and verify vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned; unloading of contents by hand may be required depending on materials hauled
• Keep the truck clean and orderly
• Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Drive trucks to transport and deliver products, equipment, or other materials
• Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers
• Inventory and inspect goods to determine quantities and conditions
• Move equipment in preparation for work readiness and adherence to job timelines
• Complete, store, and submit all necessary documentation
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles

• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA
• Maintain a current driver’s license that meets state requirements (CDL, Class A and/or
  
  B) and any endorsements
• Have a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company standards
• Ability to work independently, safely, with strong organization and work ethic
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• A valid State CDL-B or CDL-A license
• Minimum of three (3) years of previous related experience in the construction field preferred

• Ability to understand written and oral direction and communicate effectively with others
• Ability to prioritize
• Strong organizational skills
• Time management, interpersonal, and administrative skills

• Ability to climb, squat, bend, push, pull, and lift
