Join the professionals on the Transportation Team. As a team member, you will be an important part of the education process. If you are 21 years of age and have a high school diploma you can become a bus driver or monitor.
This is a 183-day position.
Pay
Schedule:
Grade BUS
- At least 21 years old.
- High school diploma.
- Pass background investigation including SLED check and DMV records check.
- Maintain a commercial driver's license with passenger, air brake, and federal school bus endorsements.
- Complete 20 hours of classroom instruction and pass a State Department of Education certification test.
- Complete required on-the-road training and pass a rigorous driving evaluation.
- Pass a physical assessment test and be subject to random monthly drug screening.
- Attend at least 10 hours of training annually to maintain proficiency.
School bus drivers are responsible for the safe transportation of students, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety, ensuring compliance with school bus regulations, serving as a monitor when applicable, and completing required training and documentation.
