Student Transportation Specialist Trainee

• Be part of the Transportation Team and play an important role in the education process while focusing on safety.
• Meet eligibility requirements to become a bus driver or monitor (you must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma).
• Support student transportation operations and participate in required training and certifications.

• Age 21+ and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks: must pass a SLED background investigation and a DMV records check.
• License: commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger, air brake, and federal school bus endorsements.
• Training and certification: complete 20 hours of classroom instruction and pass a State Department of Education certification test; complete on-the-road training and a driving evaluation.
• Physical and safety requirements: pass a physical assessment and submit to random monthly drug screening; maintain proficiency with at least 10 hours of annual training.
