Application Solutions Intern (Hybrid - Columbia, SC)
The Application Solutions Intern will perform a variety of programming assignments by using AgFirst's standard development tools and methodologies. Build and maintain systems that meet stringent quality attributes, including performance and reliability, to ensure optimal functionality. Exhibit technical leadership by promoting development best practices, sustainable frameworks, high performance, and scalable solutions.

What you'll do:
- Assist in reviewing functional requirements and developing diagrams (use cases, flowcharts) to support software design and analysis.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and developers to clarify requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Use Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, Azure Dev Ops, SQL Server Management Studio) to support software development and testing.
- Develops and executes unit and integration tests to help ensure application quality and reliability.
- Help troubleshoot and improve existing production systems, including performance analysis and issue resolution.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive data and contributes to continuous learning through training and team collaboration.
- Support application quality by writing and executing unit tests and assisting with integration or regression testing using automated testing tools.
- Participate in technical discussions or working groups as a contributor and learning resource.
What you'll need:
- Enrolled in a Computer Science or related degree program
- 0-6 months of prior work experience
- Experience with Microsoft .NET architecture and development
- T-SQL programming skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot software application issues by making programming changes and modifications to the configuration
- Understanding or experience with financial applications preferred
- Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in order to respond to support production software systems
