Job Duties:
  • The Adoptions Coordinator I under the general supervision of the Adoption Unit Program Coordinator II, assist with the running of the statewide adoption and subsidized legal guardianship and other associated programs.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implementation of recruitment and retention events coordinated by State Office Adoptions.
  • Community outreach to promote the need for kinship, foster, and adoptive homes that are streamlined to the agency's needs and core values.
  • Works with vendors and stakeholders to obtain needed supplies and resources that are used for the coordinated events within the set budget assigned.
  • Assists and provides support to the Regional Permanency and Foster Home Licensing Offices regarding recruitment and retention events.
  • Participates in meetings with the Regional Offices to discuss recruitment and retention events.
  • Participates with meetings with contracted providers to provide recruitment for kinship, foster, and adoptive homes.
  • Coordinates and maintains the Adoptive Family database system in providing access to family files, ensuring families are current, and creating shells. Assists with assigning adoptive home studies to certified investigators.
  • Tracks and analyzes data from Adoption Family databases in order to provide input on statistics of approved adoptive homes, trends, and needs to improve agency processes.
  • Receives, reviews, and responds to all post-legal requests, i.e. Reunion Registry, request for finalized adoption records, etc.
  • Serves as the backup to Certified Investigator certification process and statewide child recruitment.
  • Ensures personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared, and disposed. Protects the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment, and data.
  • Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duties/services as directed.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

A Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of professional experience in social services programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience. Prefer child welfare experience.

Must be able to travel statewide for the purpose of trainings and meetings, to include possible overnight travel. A valid driver's license is required.
