Pipe Crew – Underground Utilities

C.R. Jackson is seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join our underground utilities crew. This position plays an important role in installing storm drainage, sewer, and water systems on road construction projects.

We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, understand the importance of safety, and work well as part of a respectful, team-oriented crew
.

• Install underground pipe systems including RCP, HDPE, PVC, and ductile iron pipe
  
  • Prepare trenches and bedding to required specifications
  
  • Set and maintain proper pipe grade using lasers and grade stakes
  
  • Guide excavator operators during pipe placement
  
  • Ensure proper pipe alignment, slope, and joint connections
  
  • Install structures including catch basins, manholes, and junction boxes
  
  • Follow trench safety procedures including use of trench boxes and shoring
  
  • Work closely with crew members and equipment operators to maintain efficient workflow

• Previous pipe laying experience required
  
  • Experience with storm drainage, sewer, or water utility installation
  
  • Ability to read grade stakes and follow construction plans
  
  • Strong understanding of trench safety practices
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work well within a team environment
  • Valid driver's license preferred
