Piedmont Door Solutions is looking for an Automatic Door Repair and Install Technician for our Columbia, SC branch. Our technicians repair, maintain, and install doors on location in commercial buildings, hospitals, stores, and more. We’re looking for someone with a background in residential or commercial doors, garage doors, construction, military, electrical work, fabrication, access control, glazing, carpentry, mechanical, installing or servicing products, or any other skilled trade.
Piedmont Door Solutions provides the necessary training, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Learn to be a Piedmont Door Technician: Install, repair, and maintain doors, turnstiles, revolving doors, and other entrance or security products
- Take initiative: Proactively assist in projects, demonstrating autonomy in a high-expectation, low-supervision environment to drive project success.
- Learn and adapt: Embrace the opportunity to learn techniques from your trainer, building on existing skills and showing a desire to grow.
- Maintain professional worksite: Ensure a clean, organized, and professional worksite, paying attention to detail, taking pride in workmanship, and solving problems for customers.
- Work with office staff: Order and track parts, materials, and time spent on services.
- License: Must possess an unrestricted and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Experience: Comfortable using power tools and hand tools - personally or professionally. Preference for having worked with carpentry, electric, military, HVAC, or similar.
- Skills: Ability to stand, bend, and/or climb for long periods of time in a non-climate-controlled environment; lift 75+ pounds; work at heights/use a ladder.
- Tests: Successful completion of a background check and drug screen required. COVID-19, flu, and other vaccinations may be required.
Location options include Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh, NC;
Columbia, SC;
Atlanta, GA;
Birmingham, AL;
Lake Worth, FL; and Dallas and Houston, TX. Depending on the location, you may drive up to 2 hours to job sites.

This role involves servicing and installing doors for clients in various facilities and may require vaccinations to service certain healthcare facilities.
