Description
Our client is looking for a Field Technician to assist in their Columbia facilities. This role will support very central locations in the area with a team to support. This position is crucial to keep the infrastructure up for outages and customer needs.
DutiesAs a Telecommunications Technician, you will apply your basic knowledge of all areas of telecommunications and perform maintenance on telecommunications equipment. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Installing and wiring routers/switches, coordinating for configuration and troubleshooting.
- Install and provision of transport equipment and ethernet services supporting MPLS network.
- Testing, deployment, and documentation supporting system upgrades, patches, and maintenance window activities.
- Respond to system and service outages as well as storm/disaster support.
- Participate in maintenance window cutovers and system grooms.
- Installation and wiring of routers/switches along with coordination with multiple groups for configuration and troubleshooting.
- Effectively identify and utilize the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments.
Skills & Qualifications
- Electrical/Electronic experience and SCADA knowledge are a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
This is a Contract position based out of Columbia, SC.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
