General Statement of Job
Under occasional supervision, oversees and performs work related to roofing maintenance in Richland One Facilities Management Department. Ensures compliance with applicable codes, specifications, schedules, and standards. Supervises assigned crew members and contract personnel. Reviews work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy. Reports to the Facilities Management Manager.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises the duties of assigned roofing technicians and/or contractors. Supervisory duties include assigning, reviewing, and planning work; maintaining standards; allocating personnel; selecting new employees; addressing employee issues; and recommending and implementing corrective actions.
Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy, offering advice and assistance as needed.
Performs general roofing installation and repair, including BUR, TPO, PVC, Asphalt, bituminous, metal, and shingle roofs. This may include removal of existing roofing materials and surface preparation for new installation, along with associated trim, flashing, fascia, and soffits.
Repairs, replaces, and cleans canopies, gutters, and downspouts as needed.
Diagnoses and addresses issues related to roof leaks, damage, or improper installation.
Inspects district roofs, assigns work crews, reviews work in progress and after completion to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and schedules.
Responds to after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergencies as needed.
Estimates materials and labor for job assignments and provides recommendations for future roofing replacements and repairs. Obtains supplies as needed.
Prepares and reviews various records and reports, including work orders, diagrams, specifications, accident reports, performance appraisals, attendance records, and daily reports.
Operates equipment such as work trucks, lifts, ladders, hand tools, and roofing-related equipment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and email communication is required.
Interacts and communicates effectively with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates, district staff, students, and vendors.
Complies with all relevant codes, laws, policies, and district directives.
Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

Minimum Education and Training
Requires a high school diploma and seven years of experience in commercial roofing installation/repair or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience is preferred. Valid state driver’s license without violations is required.

Minimum Qualifications and Standards Required

Physical Requirements
:
Must be able to operate roofing equipment and tools, exert force up to 20 pounds occasionally and carry weights up to 100 pounds.
