Overview
The position has primary responsibility for the collection and sample analysis of nutrient monitoring data as part of the NERRS long-term water quality monitoring program. The position also assists with field operations required to maintain the in situ sensor network deployed as part of the NERRS long-term water quality monitoring program and has opportunities to participate in additional research and monitoring activities relevant to NERR objectives.

- Assist with field operations required to maintain the in situ sensor network.
- Participate in additional research and monitoring activities relevant to NERR objectives as opportunities arise.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision or instruction.
- Ability to read and understand scientific publications and instruction manuals, and execute actions to support the scientific goals of the project.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, marine or environmental science, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of estuarine or aquatic ecology.
- Experience working with small outboard engine boat operations and safety.
- Prior experience conducting field and laboratory research.
- Familiarity with basic environmental sampling techniques and laboratory methods.
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of basic data management and statistical procedures.
