Responsibilities
Performs inspection for moderate-level maintenance contracts on state roads in Pickens County, such as roadway mowing, vegetation or tree removal, street sweeping, etc., where field measurements for payment are required. Enters daily inspection data into the Highway Maintenance Management System (HMMS). Responsible for gathering data and creating contracts for Pickens Maintenance to include on-call concrete, RPMs (Reflective Pavement Markings), long line thermo, tree removal, brush management, lawn care, etc.
Assists in conducting field inspections on complex contracts or permits requiring firm understanding of technical aspects including traffic control, concrete, asphalt, earthwork, environmental, and safety procedures. Assists in obtaining information necessary to prepare reports required for project development. Required to work during snow and ice or inclement weather to provide support to the office operations. Performs other related duties as assigned.
A high school diploma and one (1) year of experience that is related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
Physical RequirementsEmployee may be exposed to noise, dust, inclement weather, and hazards. Must practice safety standards. Physical requirements include lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, moving objects that weigh in excess of 50 lbs, and standing for extended periods.
