Assistant Deli/Bakery Manager FT at KJ's Market summary:

Full-time assistant manager for the deli and bakery department of a family-owned grocery store responsible for supervising hosts, maintaining product quality, sanitation, inventory, and meeting sales and labor targets. Duties include training and scheduling staff, product preparation, ordering/receiving, merchandising, guest service, and performing PA announcements. Role requires deli operations knowledge, lifting and standing, customer service skills, basic computer use, and the ability to train and manage team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the deli/bakery department hosts.
  • Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the deli/bakery department.
  • Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
  • Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
  • Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Floco Foods standards.
  • Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Floco Foods standards.
  • Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure deli/bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
  • Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guests service as necessary to achieve standards.
  • Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
  • Performs PA announcements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Qualifications:
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to read and understand information and direction.
  • Knowledge of deli operations.
  • Ability to supervise hosts including training and development.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Effective communication, guests service and selling skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
  • Ability to work well with computers.
