Job Summary

The Data and Statistical Analyst will provide comprehensive biostatistical consulting services in support of NIH‑funded research. The role includes development and implementation of study designs, execution of statistical analyses, interpretation of research data, and advanced methodological support across multiple disciplines. The analyst works closely with investigators and research teams to ensure rigorous, appropriate statistical methods in federally funded projects, thereby maintaining scientific integrity and validity of research findings and advancing biomedical, clinical, and population health studies.

Education and Experience

Minimum required education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 or more years of related experience. Equivalent combinations of certification, training, education, and experience may satisfy this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Biostatistics
, Statistics
, or a closely related quantitative field (e.g., Public Health, Data Science, Computer Science).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Proficiency in one or more statistical software packages (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, Python).
  • Strong understanding of statistical methodology and its application to biomedical, clinical, and population health research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) or large health datasets is highly desirable.
  • Capacity to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Duties
  • Provide biostatistical consulting for research projects – Assist investigators with methodological inquiries and the application of appropriate statistical techniques. Advise on study design, data analysis strategies, and interpretation of results to ensure rigor and enhance quality of research initiatives.
  • Assist in the design and analysis of studies – Collaborate with investigators to develop rigorous protocols and perform comprehensive statistical analyses. Contribute to manuscripts, presentations, and technical reports, and oversee data management activities (organization, cleaning, documentation) to ensure reproducibility.
  • Contribute to manuscript writing and results visualization – Draft and edit manuscript sections related to design, methods, results, and statistical interpretation. Develop tables, figures, and visualizations that communicate complex data for publication and presentations, adhering to journal guidelines and best practices.
  • Stay current with developments in biostatistics – Engage with current literature, conferences, and continuing education to evaluate and integrate new methods, tools, and technologies into consulting services and research support.
