Overview
The Farm Quality Control & Assurance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the quality, safety, and consistency of all products produced at Summers Wellness Farm. This role ensures that produce and farm products meet established quality standards from harvest through packing and delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, observant, and committed to upholding high standards in food quality and farm operations.
Responsibilities Product Quality & Inspection- Inspect produce and farm products for freshness, quality, and appearance
- Ensure products meet farm quality standards before packing and distribution
- Identify and remove substandard or damaged products
- Verify correct sizing, grading, and packaging standards
- Monitor post-harvest handling procedures
- Ensure proper washing, cooling, storage, and packing methods are followed
- Confirm accurate labeling and product identification
- Assist in maintaining clean, organized packing and storage areas
- Support adherence to food safety guidelines and farm protocols
- Assist with recordkeeping related to quality checks and handling procedures
- Report potential quality or safety concerns to farm leadership immediately
- Maintain quality logs, checklists, and inspection records
- Track quality issues and recurring concerns
- Provide feedback and improvement recommendations to farm management
- Work with operations to improve processes and reduce waste
- Help refine quality standards as new products and varieties are introduced
- Support training of staff on quality expectations and best practices
- Experience in quality control, food handling, agriculture, or related field (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow and enforce quality standards consistently
- Comfortable working in outdoor and farm environments
- Basic recordkeeping and documentation skills
- Knowledge of produce grading standards
- Familiarity with food safety practices (GAPs preferred)
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
- Physically active role involving standing, walking, and lifting
- Exposure to outdoor conditions and seasonal temperatures
- Hands-on role closely integrated with farm operations
- Hourly or salaried,
