AnAdventure Trip Leader
An Adventure Trip Leader coordinates and leads off‑site trips for groups of up to 15 campers. The role includes managing the Adventure cabin leaders assigned to the trip as well as ensuring a safe, fun, and educational environment for campers throughout a weeklong adventure outside the camp property.
- Supervise cabin leaders and ensure the safety of campers on adventure trips.
- Serve as a role model, upholding camp values and working with integrity, creativity, and safety in mind at all times.
- Oversee the health and well‑being of campers mentally, emotionally, and physically during their time at camp.
- Pack gear and food and execute safe and educational adventure trips.
- Drive a 15‑passenger bus with cabin leaders, campers, and trip gear.
- Provide expectations, outdoor skills, and management to the group on each trip.
- Collaborate closely with the Adventure Division Leader to create itineraries for adventure trips.
- Lead trips that include backpacking, rock climbing, caving, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, and canoeing.
- Be willing to sleep, hike, climb, swim outdoors, and cook/eat food using outdoor cooking methods.
- Approach responsibilities in a fun, creative, enthusiastic, and professional manner.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
- Attend and complete required abuse risk management training.
- Follow procedures related to managing high‑risk activities and supervising consumers.
- Follow mandated reporting requirements.
- Adhere to job‑specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
- Age requirement: 20 years old by June 2026.
- Hold CPR and First Aid, WFR/WFA certifications or be able to obtain them by June 2026.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and meet Camp Greenville minimum requirements to drive a 15‑passenger minibus.
- Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
- Have leadership experience.
- Receive specialized training; outdoor knowledge and experience are required.
- Have knowledge and experience in camping and hiking.
- Knowledge and experience in two or more of the following adventure areas: mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, or canoeing.
- Experience in group facilitation and debriefing.
- Lifeguard experience strongly encouraged.
- Driving experience.
