Gary Dietrich Wildlife Management Apprenticeship Program

The Gary Dietrich Wildlife Management Apprentice Program is a 2-year program designed to train the next generation of land management professionals who will make a large scale positive impact on Wildlife Management. Candidates who have completed an associates, bachelors, or master degree can come to learn hands‑on wildlife, fisheries, and natural resource management skills. Through the implementation of a quality curriculum, expert instructors, and a host of industry and landowner partners, we are equipping apprentices with the training and on‑the‑job experience needed to provide quality wildlife management on public and private lands.

This program is a great place to kick‑start your career. Through SCWA and our partners, we have successfully placed one hundred percent of our Apprentices in desired wildlife management jobs.

During your stint as an Apprentice, you will work an average work week of 40 hours per week. You will be working alongside the SCWA habitat team on the 1250 acre Wildlife Education Center and other managed properties learning hands‑on wildlife management skills. This program also provides unique opportunities to travel to several high‑end plantations and even into Canada.
