Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an 11-week night shift Progressive Care (PCU) position requiring Epic proficiency and a SC or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of an acute care hospital setting

• Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

• Patient ratio of 1:4

• Weekend shifts required every other weekend as needed

• Floating to like units may be required

• Uses Epic EMR system

• Royal blue scrubs required

• Pre-assignment online modules must be completed before starting

• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; approval is based on unit needs and may be limited to seven days if not including holidays

• Team members may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)

• Parking is provided at no cost with a parking pass distributed at badge pickup

• Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval

• Travelers may only be assigned to one facility or unit at a time

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required

• Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU experience required

• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required

• NIHSS certification preferred

• Epic experience required

• Experience with patient ratios of 1:4 required

• SSN and Driver’s License required for consideration

• Previous permanent staff, including PRN, must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler

• First-time travelers are not accepted

• Candidates within a 60-mile radius may be considered as locals, subject to HR approval
