Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Employee Type: Regular
Work Shift: Day – 8 hour shift (United States of America)
A Brief Overview: The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on AORN standards of care and professional nursing practice: accountable for outcomes of nursing care delivered.
What You Will Do:- Prepares patients for surgery and addresses their concerns.
- Ensures the operating room is sterile, and secures necessary supplies and instruments for surgery.
- Hands over medical supplies to attending surgeons during operations.
- Monitors patients’ physical and emotional well‑being throughout the care continuum, and observes patient vital signs.
- Informs attending surgeon of issues and anomalies.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) – Required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred.
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) – Preferred.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an acute/critical care setting – Preferred.
- Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.
- Knowledge of equipment and appropriate use.
- Knowledge and compliance with the Universal Protocol.
- Knowledge of proper patient positioning.
Certifications:
- Registered Nurse – South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in good standing with South Carolina Board of Nursing – Required.
- Basic Life Support Certified – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire and recertification every two (2) years – Required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified – American Heart Association – Preferred.
