Midlands Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF‑IID) located in Columbia, SC.

• Provides daily nursing care, training, activities, and treatment to residents in accordance with all licensing and certification requirements and the South Carolina Nursing Practice Act.
• Administers routes of oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications and treatments in accordance with nursing protocol.
• Monitors health conditions of residents and reports findings to medical provider and appropriate staff. Assists physicians/patient with examinations and treatments as needed.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary living and working environment.
• Ensures accountability and protection from harm for all individuals through appropriate and thorough documentation.
• Reviews monthly Medication Administration Record (MAR) and 90‑day recertification orders, completes health care records, AIMS/DISCUS, swallowing and SAOM evaluations, and assists with weights and heights as ordered.
• Performs and participates in activities as otherwise assigned by the supervisor, including on‑call rotation procedures.

• Successful completion of a registered nursing education program per Section 40‑33‑32 of the South Carolina Nurse Licensure Act.
• Licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of South Carolina.
• Knowledge of practical nursing procedures, sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health, and safety practices.
• Ability to maintain attention to detail, accurate medical documentation, and effective communication.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations and laws, and ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Physical ability to lift and move individuals, work in a group home setting, and manage medically fragile or aggressive residents.
