FLSA Status: Exempt, part-time, 15 hours/week
Church visitors and members are each on their own unique spiritual journey. Our goal is to support them in their search for truth and meaning, their development of a Unitarian Universalist (UU) theology and identity, and their expression of our UU values in the world.
Towards this end, the Membership Coordinator will guide people along the pathway from visitor to new member, new member to established member, and established member to church leader.
In person work will be required at least two days a week - including but not limited to Wednesdays (approx. 10am-2pm) and Sundays (9am-1pm). The remainder of the hours will be completed in‑person or, with approval by the Minister, may occasionally be completed remotely.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Sunday Mornings:
Recruit, train, and manage Membership Team and Sunday Volunteer Teams (Greeters, Hospitality, and Stewards)
Serve as a point of connection and resource to visitors and newcomers to UC-CHS
Work with the Membership Team to welcome and introduce visitors and new members to Unitarian Universalism and the congregation
Develop and maintain a pathway to membership at UC-CHS:
This may include New to UU Classes, Membership Classes, Membership Dinners and other social events, and New Member Sunday Services
Nurture and support members deepening relationships with UC-CHS
Develop and maintain systems for encouraging and tracking Membership and Leadership, working with the Minister to develop and maintain a leadership development pathway
Maintain and schedule congregational calendar with approved events
Facilitate communication between and among members and ministry areas, enabling people to find opportunities for connection, growth, and service
Coordinate and support Connecting Circles and other Small Group Ministries
Regularly update the database with visitor and membership status, interest tags, and contact records
Regularly update the database with attendance records from events
Maintain the records for members receiving UU World magazine
Attend weekly staff meetings and supervision meetings with the minister
