CNC Mill Machinist

We are hiring a CNC Mill Machinist. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, dependable, and responsible for operating a variety of CNC equipment along with manual machines. The ideal candidate for the CNC Mill Operator position should have experience operating CNC and manual machines as well as be familiar with quality inspection tools. The Operator must be a team player, committed to delivering the best quality to our customers and maintain a clear work area managed to 5S Standards!

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Operate a variety of CNC turning and milling centers with Fanuc controls, including manual machines.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
• Understanding of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines is a plus.
• Use quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauge, and height gages.
• Continually inspects parts for high quality and records applicable information as required.
• Read and interpret work instruction.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Keep work area neat, clean, and organized.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read and follow SOPs, labels, instructions, and blueprints.
• Previous manufacturing CNC machinist experience required (1-2 years a plus).
• Have machine shop/metal working skills.
• Be comfortable working with close tolerances (thousandths)
• Ability to setup your own jobs and run first part (training provided)
• Must also be familiar with various types of gauging and measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, bore gauges etc.
• Able to perform quality inspections that will produce parts that conform to required specifications of the blueprint.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

The Saint-Gobain Superabrasives-North America manufacturing facility in Travelers Rest, South Carolina is the manufacturing site for diamond dressing rolls, direct plated and dressing tool products serving high volume operations in the automotive, aerospace, bearing and machine manufacturer industry. The products manufactured are used to shape materials too hard or too fragile for conventional abrasives. They are made by using electroplating, brazing and hand-setting processes and used for producing parts in a large number of machine tooling applications, primarily in the aerospace and automobile industries.
