Position TitleTechnical Specialist - Advanced Composites

HoursGenerally first shift, Mon‑Fri but may work other hours/days based on business needs.

The Technical Specialist will provide high‑level technical solutions to manufacturing processes, partnering with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other departments to troubleshoot, repair, or escalate issues to resolution.
The Technical Specialist will partner with the Training Department and Plant Leader to support training initiatives, provide direct training, and help develop programs.
The Technical Specialist will help develop materials, document processes, collect and analyze data to follow trends and will suggest and implement process improvements.
The Technical Specialist role is a salaried position, which will report to the Sr. Product Manager, with additional dotted‑line responsibility to the Plant Leader.
Job Responsibilities Overview- Spend time running, setting up, and learning our production equipment.
- Function as a technical subject matter expert for all equipment and processes, performing work safely and efficiently to resolve issues or improve processes.
- Focus on ensuring production stability and performance.
- Perform or direct mechanical work and partner with outside contractors as needed to modify, replace, repair, or install processes and production equipment.
- Monitor production results against standards and other data to follow trends and suggest improvements.
- Research, plan and prepare proposals for equipment modifications to improve processes while maintaining safety and quality standards. Strive to increase productivity and improve operations.
- Work with technicians and operators to preserve stable, high‑yield performance.
- Train others and support development of training programs.
- Work cooperatively with others, showing good judgement and professionalism.
- Accurately record data, create reports using an established understanding of computer‑based programs and databases.
- Create and resolve process documentation.
- Understand and set appropriate job priorities and successfully organize and complete tasks without close supervision and direction.
- Problem‑solving and prioritization skills.
- Willingness to make decisions. Self‑motivated. Works well alone or with teams.
- Good vision to distinguish defects, read documentation.
- Ability to hear emergency warnings.
- Dexterity to work with yarns, knobs, controls.
- Ability to lift weights of approximately 25 lbs. to 6 feet, using assistance of steps, stool, or ladder.
- May lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to work on machinery platforms, climb stairs and ladders, utilize lift equipment and work on other levels.
- Ability to operate or be trained to operate forklift.
- Strong communication skills. Understanding of professional conduct and interaction. Ability to lead, influence and collaborate successfully with others and integrate solutions.
