Build It Right the First Time - Assembly Technician
At GE Transportation, Wabtec , we design, build, and support advanced equipment that powers rail, transit, and industrial operations around the world . We are seeking a skilled and dependable Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you'll assemble, test, troubleshoot, and refine components that meet exacting engineering standards-working alongside a collaborative team in a modern industrial environment.
Hours & Pay
- Schedule: 2nd Shift | Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- Pay Rate: Starting at $18.50+ per hour (based on experience, skills, and qualifications)

Daily Tasks
- Assemble, test, and inspect products according to engineering drawings and test specifications
- Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble equipment that does not pass testing
- Work with electrical and mechanical components in an industrial manufacturing setting
- Maintain assembly and test equipment to ensure consistent performance
- Assist with daily 5S activities and general housekeeping
- Support teammates by helping resolve quality or production issues
- Move materials to and from workstations using carts, cranes, or by hand
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and quality standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production goals
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ year of assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to safely and effectively use tools and equipment required for assembly operations
- Strong listening, communication, and teamwork skills
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, including drug and fitness-for-duty testing
- Indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes, and forklift traffic
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands for tools and controls
- Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds regularly
- Use of required personal protective equipment at all times
